    I have this terrible aversion to sharpening my tools. ie chisels and plane blades. is there a a forum member in Suffolk who would give me some practical advice please? or if not any tips for sharpening would be very much appreciated. I just cannot get them sharp by using an oil stone. Cheers Colin.

    Blusted DIY Pine

    Having just bought some B & Q 2m X 6" x 1" pine for making bird houses I have found it to be very bowed and often split down whole lenghts. There must be better suppliers of this wood but I fear not a the reasonable price of B&Q I suppose you pays your money you takes your choice. Colin.

    Jigsaw Advice

    I have 100:00 to buy a 750W Jigsaw that will need to have variable speed and be able to cut metal and wood. I quite like Black and Decker tools but can anyone else suggest an alternative that will give good service as It will have to last me into retirement.

    Chamfering Know how

    How does one chamfer without a router and how does one mark it out so that the chamfer is the same all the way along a piece of wood? does a Spokeshave give a good chamfer? Colin.

    It is a Stanley No4 1/2 c.1940's? The bit that goes on last with the Cam? is all chipped away at the bottom and there is the wooden knob missing I thinks as the plane is in bits it needs the long screw that keeps the last bit in place. Cheers Colin

    Just been given a fine Carpenters tool chest with a draw inside for smaller bits and the saws live in the lid the trouble is the draw sticks like hell. How do I get it to flow freely? Thanks Colinj

    With finishes say if an item is used in a lounge with no risk of damage to the item can a basic finish be placed onto the project.
