Making a casement window (single glazed)

Tis true. My worst was having my neighbour ask me to make some door wedges and i wasnt able to do it. I miss making stuff so much. Amazon is better than netflix but nothing beats being in a workshop

Flush router bit for 60mm hardwood join.

looks like a good result !! Don't overthink a project when something longer than a number 4 would work with a bit of patience

    Its been a while....

It will never be the same though. I use to love making things outside of work hours just because everything was in place and the only limitation was my imagination. I've now got a partially built 7m x 2m shed with everything crammed in and its a ball ache just to physically be able to leap over...

    Its been a while....

Hi everyone. Covid wasn't kind and my dream workshop fell to pieces. Took many years to get it how i wanted but covid knocked the poop out or normal jobs from happening. Took a job of employment for the last 15 months which paid the bills etc. Looking forward to seeing your guys/gals projects...

    Bluetooth/FM enabled ear-defenders

Thanks Roger. I bought some bluetooth ear muffs some time ago but because the workshop was like a faraday cage they never got fm reception very well. I'll put them in the post for you to have a fiddle. I got a couple lithium ion batteries for them so hopefully after being unused for a few years...

    Brace and Ledge Door

As Phil mentioned if the angle of the brace is less than 45 degrees it wont be very effective. The door on the left will likely to continue dropping, the door on the right with the angle of the brace steeper than 45 degrees will stand a much better chance of holding its shape Sent from my...

Thin but deep mortise - advise needed

Drawbores should be tapered. It was an apprentices job to plane off fingertips. Foreman always said it was the only way to do it(by hand with a blockplane) untill i made a router jig to make the drawbore in a fraction of the time with repeatable consistent accuracy. They should be tapered to...

    Brace and Ledge Door

The angle of the brace should be steeper than 45 degrees. Sometimes that will look like a long brace joined on the middle rail, two shorter braces already falling aren't much use other than aesthetically Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    Advice about windows

Bit of a hash up isnt it !? I wonder if they made it 40-50mm oversized and just hacked it off. Glad to see you still posting Trev [WINKING FACE][THUMBS UP SIGN] Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

That would mildly concern me that the two part tenon is hanging out of the bottom of the side piece of wood Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
