    New workshop

I do like the Elite series, 'cause they're heavy and well made. Can't say anything 'bout the other types of current workbenches;but i do own an older, lighter workbench and it can't be used for planing without weighting down or fixing it to the floor. I don't think i'd spring the money for any...

Anyone put a living roof on a shed?

Hi! I put some sedum plants on the roof of the rabbit hutch. I bought them from a pro and he recommended to build for 270 kg/sqm. The roof has 20 deg. pitch. Still doing fine after 4 years.

And i don't quite agree with the statement that it's inherently better to sharpen freehand as opposed to using a jig.. But...

Hi! Could someone be so kind as to educate me on the different uses of low-angle, bevel-up, York-pitch, etc. I thought i knew it all, but now i've seen that Veritas offers a low-angle smoothing plane as well as a bevel-up smoothing plane. And that send me spinning... I always thought that to...

    Neccessary hand-tools

G'day, folks! I've recently begun to buy hand tools. Now i wonder what tools you consider an absolute neccessity to have for furniture/box-making. For you info: I got a complete set of bench chisels (no mortising chisel), a block plane, a no.5 1/4 jack, a no. 6 fore, a japanese combi-saw...
