    Disc Sander - which one?

I have had the record for about 4 years and for the first 12 months I hardly used it. I then moved it to a place in the workshop where I had easy access and it was easy to see. It probably gets more use now than almost all the leckie tools in the place. I mainly use 180 grit for cleaning up and...

    Greetings from the colonies...

Lovely work and I'm as jealous as hell of your workshop facility. Welcome !!

    Tracksaw

I have the Bosch and it is probably my favourite tool in my workshop. It is around 6 years old now and runs as well as it did when I first got it from Axminster in the UK.(it was a few hundred dollars cheaper than buying it here in Oz and free delivery.) I was making dining tables at the time...

    Saw stop ( USA )

Sawstop is simply an invention that adds another layer of protection in the event of a mistake, accident, 'act of God' or any of the many circumstances where people lose body parts to saws. I see it as nothing more or nothing less. We don't live in a perfect world unfortunately and that is...

    Saw stop ( USA )

I wonder where, air bags, abs, seat belts, traction control and the plethora of safety devices built into cars nowadays fits into the discussion. Surely they're not required when an experienced and well trained driver is controlling a ton and a half of steel at 100 kph in heavy rain with the...

    Product question......

I have the 30 ltr Vevor paint pot and converted it to use for resin casting. I turn wood and got sick of destroying beautiful root balls with bubbled resin. It gets rid of all the bubbles with no issues, and holds pressure of 50 psi for at least 3 days.(I forgot that I had it loaded once). When...

    What bandsaw do I need?

That's the one! The invoice had the Shark Bandsaw Blade name and logo on it.

    What bandsaw do I need?

I have a Record BS 400 and now I have it set up properly I'm very happy with it. I use Wood Slicer resaw blades that I order from Highland Woodworking in the US and it has no trouble at all with our Eucalyptus hardwoods and even Buloke (with the required amount of patience.) I replaced the upper...

    Record Power Warning sticker

Yep, I totally agree David. Nearly every tool in my shed is made in either China or Taiwan and the country of manufacture is clearly written on each machine. I just think that Quality Control should extend to all aspects of a machine including spelling mistakes. Maybe I'm just a pedantic old...

    Record Power Warning sticker

I wouldn't be too worried about it being a 'knock off'. I'm in Oz and have exactly the same Warning sticker on my BS 400. I agree, that they probably ran out of stickers and hoofed it down to the local printer with a sample. Record should be on top of this though from a QC point of view. I...

I’ve heard of inflation but this is ridiculous.

It's crazy times that's for sure. I bought my Domino 700 in late '18. I bought it from Amazon UK for $185 less than they were selling for here in Aust, and that price included shipping. I bought my other Festool kit from Italy for similar savings. I think Festool have dropped the weights on them...

I’ve heard of inflation but this is ridiculous.

Haha, that's a good point. Part of the problem is that the warehouses are mostly empty due to Covid. The evil natives can see you coming.

I’ve heard of inflation but this is ridiculous.

Don't feel too hard done by lads and laddettes. I still buy most of my tools from the UK and ship them to Australia as it is cheaper than buying them here. All the convicts you blokes sent here are now running tool shops. Cheers
