    Home office desk questions...

Hi guys, it seems to have taken me about 2 hours 15minutes to plane one face of this knotty pine and i haven't even finished that yet! It's been taking me a long time to get the cupping out of the board. Should i change my name to Pro-Powertools? P.s. You can see where i've fought with the...

    Home office desk questions...

Hi, i have shown in the pictures that SO FAR i have enough for a table top and legs & i was asking what else i should purchase and if people could advise me. I know that what i have isn't enough, i need wood for the aprons and draws. Alternatively, with the legs that i have, would i be better...

    Home office desk questions...

I've also been given these. I thought i could use these pieces for legs, they measure 3x3 and are 30" in length, but they're obviously a different wood to what i was considering for the table top. Would i get away with it if i stain everything?

    Home office desk questions...

Yeah i'm looking to boost my ego as well as have something practical. I want to make something i'm proud of rather than something that's just practical. Well, let's say it's a 'smaller' office desk. I think 40" is definitely suitable to my needs and my space. Of course a huge desk with lots of...

    Home office desk questions...

Well, thanks for ruining my day! haha. I was only considering it as a table top because wood is so expensive. I was at my local B&Q Store (I know) and anything worth having was way over budget.

    Home office desk questions...

Hi guys, i'm in the process of building a home office desk but i'm unsure of what design to go for, even though i've searched through a million pictures on google. I've got these four pieces of timber for my table top (which are 1"3/4 inches thick) and a little left over for the drawer fronts...

Table design which needs to be sturdy & easy to disassemble

I think the double leg & double beam idea sounds good. Now then, does the thickness of the wood i use increase the strength of the table? For example, should i have thicker beams and legs.

Table design which needs to be sturdy & easy to disassemble

Ahh ok. And would that be worth my while having the extra 'beam' going across, would it strengthen it more than just the one? Daft question actually i suppose haha. Thank you

Table design which needs to be sturdy & easy to disassemble

Thanks for the link Brentingby & Jacob I should also mention i'm still at an early stage of my woodworking 'career', so i suppose i'm satisfied with the trestle because i've watched a lot of videos on youtube on how to make them and feel confident that i could replicate it. So i suppose i just...

Table design which needs to be sturdy & easy to disassemble

Hi, Well a single bag of flour would be around 20/25kg & there would be approximately 6-10 bags on the table at one time, so i'd say it would need to withstand 170kg maybe a bit more... Would the trestle table i've shown with wedges work for that kind of weight?

Table design which needs to be sturdy & easy to disassemble

Thanks for your response dave. Yeah the reason i was looking at the trestle table with wedges idea was so that we don't need bolts/screws etc.. incase they get lost when we're packing up and driving.

Table design which needs to be sturdy & easy to disassemble

Hi guys. I need to build multiple tables which are really strong but easy to dismantle. I'm working in the catering industry at the moment on a mobile van & we travel around a lot so i need a table design which is very simple to assemble/disassemble but is really strong due to lots of heavy...
