scheppach tku4000 or tisa 5/ dewalt 745 - any owners opinion

hi, would really appreciate any personal opinions on the above saws, having moved to turkey these are about the only three i narrowed the list down to (sticking with manufacturers i've used anyway!!). Originally my main thought was the DW745 - couldn't find a bad review anywhere but then i...

    RIP Trend T30

hi, unless its already gone to the tip do you have a tool repair shop nearby, if lucky may of only been down to sticking carbon brushes, a little clean up of armature may help. even if not they should tell you if it'd be a cost effective repair (about £20 for brushes, £120-130 for new 240v...

Advise please nail guns and nails

roy, i was only saying earlier that the ring shank gives more resistance than the smooth/plain due to its ribs on the body. jon, just checked my paslode 25mm & 63mm nails (16g), they have part ribs along the body, there may likely be a variation between manufacturer in pattern though. ade

Advise please nail guns and nails

hi jon, my 2nd fix paslode takes 16g, from (i think) 16 - 64mm pins, shortest i've used being 25mm, the 1st fix can be either 2.8 or 3.1mm from 51-90mm, theres all sorts of different types from ss to galv, smooth through to ring shank, the latter giving most resistance to coming back out. reckon...

    Chop saw advice please

hi, if its the ks216 at toolstop i'd though it very good value myself but think its only a 120mm width cut where you want up to 140mm?

How loud do power tools have to be to hurt your hearing?

cannot stress enough the pros for using ear plugs and defenders, even for the quickest of jobs where it takes longer to put defenders on than it does to saw through a piece of wood! had tinnitus for about 2yr now, like gareth above its just in my left ear & can range from mildly annoying to...

    mafell/festool/bosch rail clamp compatability

thanks for the input, reckon i'll try the bosch, the rails themselves seem identical so should be a safe bet. what can possibly go wrong???!

    mafell/festool/bosch rail clamp compatability

morning, took the plunge (excuse the pun) and bought a maffel plunge saw & guide rail, spent a lot of time deciding which would be best for me and the mafell won marginally with the depth of cut, the only downside being the cost of accessories which are higher than festool. what i was wondering...

Nailers - Home use -Best Choice.

hi, personally speaking i've never had any joy with anything other than paslode and the hilti gx100/120 will send nails through wood/ brick/concrete/steel combinations effortlessly, you'd be more than welcome to borrow but postage back and forth would more than likely be more than hiring. may...

Saw for cutting up scavenged firewood?

for home use theres no legal requirement for ppe & to be honest for an electric chainsaw a pair of ear defenders, safety glasses & bit of common sense, reading the user manual & practice will get you by just fine. a chain brake is mostly for in the event of kickback (or whenever idling) so if...

    Which 1/2" Router?

good result with the clamps at least! if going for the t11 and you're not in a rush its often worth checking on the trend site as they often have 'b & c' graded stuff (damage to packaging etc) at discounted prices, i've had a few bits and bobs and wouldn't of known any difference from normal...

    Which 1/2" Router?

personally i don't think theres anything to choose between the two, basically the same machine anyway, worth looking at D&Ms who've got the 625 for £224 on offer at mo, which would clinch it for me!

    Buying paslode in America

luckily didn't need another charger as just use the one off 2nd fix gun, you should be able to get the base and adaptor for around the £40 mark, maybe cheaper on ebay, or even possibly get a small domestic transformer, think they're only something like £15ish. one thing worth mentioning though...
