wooden toys animated, books and wood supliers

Hi All, I would like to make wooden toys and being new to woodworking can you suggest a good book to start with for making animated toys also what wood to use to make them, also living in merseyside where can I find a good supplier, thanks in advance,

It depends what type of toys you want to make. If you fancy making action toys for boys then Richard Blizzard does some lovely toys. For more general stuff try Terry Forde

I'd have a look on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_ ... +%26+games. You can pick up bargains from £0.01 for a new book and just pay £2.75 postage. Alternatively have a look in your local library.
