this was saved from the bin at a charity shop, along with other nice bits.

I knew it needed attention.

The bench grinder was broken.
The shaft was bent and the tools dull.
But the boiler was in need of some tlc.

The bolt ring, sight glass, the seal and the front ring are missing.

I temp fixed it with a brass plate and a level plug, mamod spares.

This proved the boiler was shot.

Oddly it held air pressure, not not when hot.

The burner tray had welded it self the the side springs.

Odd for a German machine of the age. Canopy fixings M5, screws holding the machines to the base, BA. Boiler fixings imperial and metric.

The replacement boiler does not come with the fixings, so I had to clean the old boiler and remove them.
Then a simple case of silver solder them into place.

I was pleased I had some heat paste.

Yes, I could of simply fitted the new grinder into place, but I didn't. I stripped both down and rebuilt the original.

First steam showed the pressure gauge was leaking, but new seals had that done.

The drip pipe was also cracked, but a dremel and soft solder had that done.

New belts and we are away, the shaft just need a talking too with a set of pliers.

You use the grinder to sharpen the drill bit, normal tools for the saws and it will work.

Thanks for the replies.

It was fun, it was also a bit frustrating.

But the tools all work, the fun was sharpening the dril bit on the grinder.
Then for silly fun cutting wood to feed the boiler on the saws.

That is stunning, I would have loved that as a child. I'm now 65 and would love it even more now. Great find sir !
