What wood would I want?

Rhossydd and Pete have both mentioned eucalyptus as being not worth it. What varieties do you get in the UK as there are some marvelous varieties out here?

Thanks for that. Obviously the stuff that thrives in the UK isn't up to much. Still, I suppose the leaves smell nice on a barbecue.

ps. the last time I was in the UK I saw a large eucalyptus at Somerleyton in Suffolk. E. Gunnii (cider gum). Doubt if it would be much good but if anyone is that way with a chainsaw...
