Right guys, a bit of help please.

I need suggestions for the very finest of fine furniture makers. I am involved with a job that requires incredibly detailed inlay and veneer work, to the best standards in Europe, for a series of pieces of Art Deco furniture.

We have already had prices of around £150,000 for a dining table (excluding the chairs)..........and we have been instructed to seek alternative quotes. There is probably a million plus pounds worth of work, but it would have to be of unbelievable standard.

Who do we approach?

I've had no dealings with these people but came across their website a while back;

Aryma.

Might be worth a call?

Hi Mike

From someone I know how has seen the work of some of these guys I would think they are up to standard. http://www.norfolkfurnituremakers.org/contact.html . Michael Westgate, his web address is on that page, would be worth making contact with as I understand that he specialises in very high quality inlay/veneering work.

What a great commission, Mike.

What I think you really need is a research assistant to drive around Europe and Scandinavia on a fact-finding mission - paid work, naturally plus expenses. I think that three months should do it and I might be able to free myself up to carry out this arduous task for you. :wink:

No one's mentioned the obvious people like John Makepeace, John Lloyd, Steve Maskery ( ;) ), Rico Daniels ( :lol: ), etc

The thing is, Tom, that we have designed all the furniture already.......and certainly you associate at least Makepiece with designing their own furniture. Ane there is such a lot of it, and the work will be so intense, that this is really only suitable for quite a large business.

Anyway, there are some great leads there, and we will be contacting some of them this afternoon.

Mike

keep us in the loop Mike. Very interested to see the outcome.

Unfortunately, Tom, I have to be very careful of client confidentiality here. We are sworn to secrecy on all aspects of this job.......even the drawings go out without the client name or project location on them. So I'm afraid there can be no follow-up on this.

Sorry

Mike
