A regular geometric solid object has 5 flat faces.

If you cut it into two pieces at half its height so as to have two new objects, one has the same properties as the original (but smaller) and the other has 6 flat faces.

What is the generally accepted name of the original object?

Oops! Yes it was that easy, but only because I did not check my source for the question and included the information that it was 5 sided.

In the original, the question stated only that the object was "a regular geometric solid" . Not so simple then.

I'll try again later and check sources first!
