I’m looking to make up a stacked end grain worktop in hardwood ply.

I have used reasonably good birch ply that is commonly available from timber sheet suppliers. Typically has good face veneer, but the quality of the end graincan be quite patchy in terms of discolouration, and the occasional small void.

I see images online of very good, flawless and consistent end grain.

Does anyone have any experience with the types of ply I should be looking for and any uk suppliers?

Have you given your local reputable supplier a call and asked for their advise?

Are the pictures that you have seen real plywood or are they plywood edging? A lot of new plywood furniture is I believe chipboard or mdf that is cunningly lipped to look like plywood.
