I had the privilege last year to be on the Prince's Foundation craft apprenticeship scheme, which takes people with existing trade qualifications and tries to push them towards the heritage sector.

Starting last July, I had the chance to work with my fellow apprentices on a project at Dumfries House Estate in Scotland, followed by a number of placements with various joinery firms around the country. It was an exciting, tiring and extremely valuable year.

The following is some of the work from the various placements throughout the country...

What a lucky so and so. Training to be able to handle that variety of work. I'll bet there are quite a few on here, like me, who would like an opportunity to be involved in work of that sort. Great start, I'm sure non of the experience will be lost on you. It is good to know that craftsmen with that sort of training are still being produced.
