having posted this topic in the advice section and I was advised I would get a better response here.

I have a jet mini lathe (1014) and was looking at picking the best chuck (will be turning small bowls and pens mostly).

I was looking at the supernova G3 but am not sure if the jet would be able to cope with this chuck so was wondering if anyone has this combination or was using a G3 on a similar sized lathe

Someone has suggested a versachuck so will be looking at this as well

thanks

I ran Jet mini for ma year with a nova chuck no problem. It may be small but it is a tough little thing and the chuck is no problem. Just make sure that you get the right thread on the insert for it. Personally, unless you are getting a 2nd hand Nova I'd be inclined to go for the Patriot. The latest Nova stuff is Taiwanese and there are occasional problems with the quality of them.
