Hi all,
Just completed my first pyrography commission for another carpenter I work with who did the wood preparation for me. Personally I wouldn't burn oak again as it grain is too close to get perfectly smooth lines, but using a "stippling" effect I managed to get good results. The sign is about the size of an A4 sheet of paper and took about 5 hours to complete including transferring the image from tracing paper to wood.
