I'm planning to go this Friday and was wondering if anybody from Newcastle had a rough idea how long it takes to get there and what time things properly start.

I go from High Heaton up the 189 and it takes about 20 minutes.
Official start time is 7.30 but get there a bit before that if you want a better seat and parking spot. Parking is on the grass in front of the building but there's plastic mesh down so it's not muddy (unless you go too far to the end!).

Not sure of the exact format tomorrow but the demo will probably last part of the night, there'll then be a tea break (40p and you get a biscuit as well:) when there's a chance to look at the entries in the competition and vote (all attendees get to vote). There may be some more demo. Once votes are counted the winners and others usually get to stand at the front and talk through how they made it and answer questions.
