Can anyone help me with this,I have a General 260 lathe with outboard turning, the spindle thread is 11/8x8 left hand outboard and 11/4x8 inboard, I am looking for a chuck to fit the outboard side, any suggestions please.

Oneway makes chucks that use adaptors. They have 1-1/8 - 8 RH/LH for the Stronghold and Talon chucks.

Oneway makes high quality tools in Canada and have been for a long time. Fitting since the General was also made here.

Pete
thanks Pete, but I think shipping will be expensive, nearly as much as the chuck!

You could get a chuck like a Versachuck and get a backplate threaded to suit, you could then use the same chuck inboard and outboard.

Thanks for your reply,it looks like a backplate is the way to go,I’ll have to do some ringing round.
I can make you an insert for the record sc4 chucks to that thread
Thanks for your reply,my chuck is an APTC 4in diameter, could you make a backplate for this?
I can make you an insert for the record sc4 chucks to that thread
