Hi all,

Well it has been slow progress since I first started woodworking in June this year and since then I have been able to churn out this, post737680.html#p737680

I am really chuffed, and now I will be looking at other similar projects to get my skills up.

Meanwhile though, I am thinking of looking at a longer term project, making a cabinet of some sort. Problem is I wouldn't know where to start, are there any courses anyone can recommend? I would prefer something in the Midlands but could travel.

Or, could anyone recommend any good books?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Thanks Mick, been looking at the videos, really jealous of his thicknesser...

Until I get one of them I would resort to my trusty planes.

Paul Sellers is good for hand tool projects for beginners, books and courses.

Another name to google for is Chris Schwarz. He has several simple projects on various sites.

Hi Jacob,

Thanks for that, the masterseries programme looks really tempting, I'm just trying to fathom the costs...

Hi Mark

A lot of his stuff is free online e.g. google 'Paul Sellers youtube' etc. His book is good (but pricey).
