I recently bought a fair amount of timber that I need to arrange to be collected and delivered to Kent. Not having use of a fork lift at this end I think I need someone with a Hiab or Moffat lorry. The prices I'm being quoted seem a little steep for a 150 mile journey. Can anyone recommend someone they have used before that is cost competitive? Many thanks

20 years ago I paid £120 for a short journey when only a Hiab would do, that was nearly as much as the cargo.

Depending on the amount & length of timber I'd be more inclined to hire a long wheel transit, a Hiab is great but it will only put your timber curb side so chances are you'll still have to had ball it & at least in a van your wood isn't exposed to the elements.
