Hello
I suppose you might have read already that it is, indeed the worst designed fence design ever for a bandsaw.
The secondhand one at the folks place had some work done to it beforehand.
I reckon it's probably setup pretty good, but not really sure...
It runs smooth and allows guides to be set close.
Though the saw won't cut a straight line even on thin pallet spruce whilst using the fence,
it would drift off one side of the line or the other, maybe its the light gauge blades that we got for the machine to tension easier, I don't know...
I'd be interested to see if anyone has good results using the fence on their machine.
What I'm getting at, is to see how things go with jointed bit of timber clamped at either end before you spend any money.
If it rips without drift then might be worth sorting something out.
I still reckon a point fence might be more useful on a machine that size.
If you do manage to get straight rips with the jointed timber fence, then this design
is IMO the best, as you can lift it off easily for crossutting/curvecutting
whilst also as simple as can be to make.
Just my 2 cents, quite interested to see if anyone gets good results with the fence this machine.
Good luck
Tom
