Greetings all, I am trying to source some brass countersunk inserts. I need them for a removable panel and do not want to use cup washers. Any ideas? Becks :?:

Are these from Screwfix any good? They do 6 and 8 gauge

Edit: Bummer, beaten to the draw by a dodgy Internet connection! :?

WOW! 5 minutes and 2 replys Brilliant response, I spent 30 minutes on phone yesterday with no luck. Many thanks chaps, I never thought of Screwfix as I hadn"t seen them for years and thought they would be a specialist item. Becks :D

Yo! I got there a full 2 minutes before Scrit!
Yeh, but only coz my Broadband connection fell over..... again

Anyone else having heavy weather? We've been sitting here listening to the water roll rocks down the beck behind the house for the last couple of hours......

The weather's OK (here in Surrey) but my Broadband seems very slow. I'm assuming that either internet traffic is heavy (people checking news etc) or else GHQ is checking everything today.

Weather is fine here, just spoken with my son in Reading and he said it's been sunny but breezy all day.

Sun, righteous ? :)

Cripes  Well if I did it might account for people checking the news... Bit miserable weather-wise round here, and the connection speed's reminding me of the good old days of dial up.

Cheers, Alf

Wel, we've had flooding and the railway will probably be closed on the morrow, again

No but I've just fallen off me bike. Over the handlebars  Luckily I landed on my head and the ground broke my fall.
Smashed tooth, dentures and glasses, big cuts and bruises, Ambulance offered to take away but wasn't far from home so declined.
Feeling better now after a few swigs on the old bottle!
Might be concussed/drunk so apologies if this is incoherent and posted in the wrong thread. (which is the right thread for near death experiences? )

cheers
Jacob
PS What day is it? Where am I?

Jacob,

I think you must be concussed. I've re-read your last post over and over. There's not a single contentious statement. Get to a doctor man

Seriously, glad you are ok. I fell off my bike recently too. Mine was total stupidity. Cycling through a narrow alley with garden fences on both sides, while carrying a big bag of bread (a little foible of mine.) Clipped the fence on the right with the bag - wobbled - tried to put left foot down forgetting it was clipped into pedal - crashed through fence on left destroying it with rib-cage.

The house owner was very surprised but pleased that I left my name and address and later returned to pay for the damage. Fence repairs were cheaper than my chiropractor's bills!

Contentious? Moi? I call it maintaining a sense of balance. Wish I'd managed the same with my bike.
Many people have kindly asked about the condition of the said bike - it's OK thanks, one or two slight scratches. It's a very sturdy Dawes Galaxy - middle of the road but excellent value for money, like many tools I could name.
I'm OK too. Having to eat chopped up food but no probs with the demon drink.
It only hurts when I laugh.

cheers
Jacob
