Can't remember what the wood is (getting on a bit!!!)
Think it's ash. - Edit: no it's not, think Mick is right it's Elm.
4'' (100mm) clock face.

Finished in sanding sealer & friction polish.

C & C welcome

You're welcome Hutzul - My bottle of friction polish has lasted me about a year & half so far.
It's difficult to get a good finish on anything over approx 5'' diam tho.
T-cut is good to even it out if you get an uneven finish.

The clock looks great. I've never used friction polish but would be very tempted now; I made some small turnings around Christmas and messed around with Melamine spray - a bit of overkill but I wanted a shine.

Cheers Mike,

It does leave a nice shiny surface, on smaller items it is usually my preferred choice of finish as long as they aren't going to be handled much. After saying that tho I have used it on pens too as over time I like the wood to take on that ''used'' look.

You got the best out of that piece and a great finish too. It's sad to think that Elm is almost all gone ,what a lovely wood to work with .
Thank you for showing .
