Big office Laser/Fax machine

Does anyone know about these type of machines?

The guy who sold me the ally plates has a big huge Laser printer/Fax machine in the back of his van.

He said I can take parts off it for use if any? before he scraps it.

Anyone know if the mechanics in these are all metal ie Cogs,rails ect,ect
I do know it will have at least on Stepper motor inside and thats worth having.

My guess is that there'd be a lot of useful (to someone :? ) metal bits in there. Son-in-law uses one just like that for their business, and when I collected it for him, it took two of us to lift it so there must be something pretty solid!

I just looked up the HP service manual one I posted a link to on ebay.

Lots of goodies to be had in there,cogs,wheels chrome runner bars,couple of motors,worm gears... 8)

Sadly the gears are made of Nylon but are robust in their nature.

Well I stripped it down today,got five medium sized bipolar stepper motors out of the printer/fax machine.

Quite a number of cogs and worm cogs,with these motors and cogs I'll be able to operate me router in the table via a laptop. :lol:
