Been fairly quite for a while on here, my real world job has been getting in the way (has a way of doing that sometimes).

Anyway the misses done a craft fair Sunday and wanted me to make a few bits she could paint up so using the old scroll saw we done some 3d pictures and key holders

Then on Saturday morning she said she needed a cloths rail for her friend to put her children cloths on at the fair.

I had some wood packaging boxes that i was not using so i thought I would put them to use.

They started off looking like this, tongue and groove boards.

so I gave them a clean up (sanded with the belt sander and then planed them down) and trimmed off the tongue and grove from there respective sides and then gave them some shape.

To mount the sides to the bottom I used a shouldered through tennon. it needed to be dismantled and remade without tools so this system worked well.

The picture below gives you the idea of what was going on and this was after a light coat of white spray paint. just gave it the light going over so the grain was still easily visible

after a quick rub down with some wet and dry after it dried it was a nice smooth feel and the misses done a little design on the side.

Here it is all together

pleased with how it turned out as it was all done on the fly and took about 3 hours (excluding painting time)

Unfortunately they both did not do to well at the fair (but then the other stool owners they spoke to never had any joy, even the tea and coffee stool did not make enough to cover the cost of the stool) The positive is that she learnt a lot from it and we got our brand out there and gave out some stickers and flyers. (http://www.creocreate.co.uk shameless plug).

cheers for looking
Mark
