workshop improvements, "The Game of Workshop Chairs"... WIP

This is planned to be a WIP of some changes I'm making to the workshop, its out of sequence as it were, as the next step is going to be step 5; A wood burner, (so I'm not trying to get glue out of a bottle at 8 degrees!) A bit of background, (and perhaps another thread in the making), about...

    woodturning / lathe cabinet?

I posted this pic in general a couple of weeks ago but drawn a blank - as it were.. :) it's been suggested it could be a lathe or woodturning cabinet from the brass holders on the back wall? Does this seem feasible to you? I'm not sure about this as I've not seen chisels stored...

I've recently got one of these beasts, finally got it hooked up and found there's a nick in the blades. thankfully it came with some spare blades, but not the jig for setting them. (The multico part number is NTH 2025) It's also missing the roller setting gauge (SP1230), other than that it...

    SWMBO

SWMBO's birthday looms ever closer! Any suggestions on something suitable to impress and improve the odds of further workshop additions? (As the wiser heads will be aware, there is a direct relationship between the coming years workshop budget and the level of being impressed on the birthday!)

    stable door problem.

bit of a long shot... I'm looking for a stable door, (external, softwood, opening outwards). Size is a bit odd, 1918mm x 838mm. (6' 3 1/2" x 33") Most of the suppliers I've found on line only allow about 6mm trimming top and bottom and although I've got about a couple of inches wiggle room...

reclaimed woods, metal finders / detectors?

I'm thinking of using some reclaimed wood but I'm not sure how to check that it is clear of old nails and other rubbish. Any suggestions on something to find the nasties? I seem to recall that 'Norm' uses a wand type gizmo but can't find the correct search term for it...

    nail gun; pneumatic paslode

hi all I've got about 15m of stud work framing to fit, (long story but nice workshops don't just happen lol). I've been lusting over a paslode, as I'm sure I'll find lots of other things that need its services. The cost of the consumable is the only thing that bothers me. I've got compressors...
