    Tyme Cub Lathe Beginner

    I used to have a Tyme Avon and would recommend you consider a versachuck from the toolpost at Didcot. Backplates are available that can be interchanged if you ever upgrade your lathe. regards roy wathen

    Hi, I think you need to look for Bristol locking handles, They are a standard component and I got mine from axminster power tools you will just need to establish the metric thread size that goes into the toolpost, regards roy

    chuck advice /25mm tap

    Regarding chuck advice I would suggest you look at the versachuck as offered by the toolpost. I have one of these as all my axminster jaws fit on it the 25 x 2 backplate can be substituted for a variety of more common thread sizes should you ever change/upgrade your lathe regards roy
