Biscuit joints are for aligning only and add no strength to your joints. If you are using but joints I would be concerned of stability. Your original plan for using dowels seems a far more robust method. Maybe spend the money on a decent dowelling jig or change your style of joint. Kreg...

The whole build looks very sturdy compared to the Fox but they want to charge about 360 dollars for shipping as they have no British retail outlet or warehouse so currently back to Fox Alien. Not sure but may also get the linear rails
