    Oxford's nice (I live thereabouts) and almost any of the college chapels or halls will be laden with interesting wood stuff provided the college in question isn't one of the newer ones. You'll want to pack a lunch though, as for merely the price of a kidney in Oxford you'll get a small sandwich...

    What did you do in your workshop today ?

    Put two pieces of wood in the vice, their flat bottoms aligned in an attempt to plane the top sides to level. And they are perfectly flat. A delightful flat slope, at about 20 degrees. Beautiful!

    I made a towel rack, which is more or less the first thing I've made since my last woodworking lesson in school about 20-odd years ago.     Well I was going to really stretch my ability to cut two straight lines at an angle and put a little roof on, so hopefully the water will run off (one corner more than the other, because hahanostraightlines). So untreated is the way to go - thanks very much!
