Quick Question... I am cutting slabs of cherry wood on my table saw and noticed that it has fair taken its toll on my blafe.. I have a freud 254mm 40 tooth blade.... Should i be using a different blade for these kinds of slabs? The slabs are about 50mm thick.. Thanks in advance guys Craig

Well thank you all for the comments.... I like the advice about shaving the burn wit has the router at the end to save sanding... this is something I will improve on.... I am going to use the two sample boards in the house and make some new ones... thanks all very much...

Morning Guys... I have just made my first solid cherry wood chopping boards... And I am more than happy with the way they have turned out... Only issue I have at the moment is that i routed out finger slots on either side and at each end there is burning.... HELP, how do i sand these...

I am planning on making a few John..... looking to buy some bulk offcuts and make a few to gain some experience... I have already made one from a mixed box of hardwood i bought on ebay, but this is obviously difficult to tell to a newby like me what wood is what.... lol....

Morning guys.... I am wanting to start some chopping boards. Simple bread cutting boards I'm good with.... End grain butchers blocks are my next projects... on eBay I see pallets of offcuts of hardwood, oaks etc for sale... will the likes oak be hard enough for these??? I look forward to...

Well it's been a few weeks now... I ended up being g given a fire door which has served as a great bench... I still have plans for bench dogs, vice and even build a router table into the table. But so far it simple serves as a foldable bench... I also undertook my my first build, a crosscut...

Well, thank you all.... You have all given plenty to think about.... My bench will have to be multi-functional due to lack of space... I am going to take different things for different ideas and incorporate as much as i can that will work for me... Cannot wait to get started.... Really need...

Well i hadnt really thought about the holes until i clocked something on youtube.... Think i will give them a miss at the moment, i do like the idea of tracks tho... Where can i buy tracks and accessories to suit?
