scroll saw newbie can anyone give advice

Whatever you choose, get one with a quick-release knob at the back. It's so tedious having to unscrew the back knob to change a blade, then having to screw the back knob down again to the right tension. I used to have a Ferm with a screw-type back knob. Chucked it, got a SIP. Whatever you end...

HELP Need a new replacement Scroll saw but tight budget

I've got a SIP 16" saw. Had it for four or five years, never been any trouble. Variable speed, tilting table, pinless or pinned blades. Quick release lever at the top back, to release blade tension (don't get screw-type release knobs). Very little vibration (I don't even bolt it down). It was...

    Customs Charge on blades

Maybe off subject slightly... I bought an item from Japan costing £357, and I got a letter from the Post Office. Not only did I have to go and collect it, but also pay £42 in Import Duty... But what I bought was well worth it. Bruce

    pin end scroll saw blades

I use pin end blades all the time, even for circular holes down to 1/2" diameter. These blades are almost 1/8" from teeth to back of blade. You can cut straight lines nearly blind-folded (NOT recommended), as it's very easy to follow lines, because there's very little drift. To cut holes, you...

    Second time around

Hello NazNomad. (Did I get that right?) Yes, that's the new link. What a strange situation: The old e-mail address that I used before has been closed down, but I couldn't sign in to notify of a change of address, because I'd forgot my password. UKWorkshop couldn't send me an e-mail to change my...

    Second time around

Hello everyone. It's been that long since I was a member, I'd forgot my password to sign in and change my e-mail address. My username was brucio. Just that-brucio. Now it's brucio75. Anyway, I'm still making puzzle boxes with a srollsaw, but my website host closed down, and I've had to move my...
