That's a dodgy looking connector block on the mains cable! If it's been unused for 6 years as the description says, the sliding pulleys might be in need of some cleaning up and lubrication and capacitor failure can cause overheating of the motor, which can damage insulation etc. so I think I would want to give it a good going over before bidding on it and even then, the starting bid seems a little on the high side.

I bought something very similar as my first lathe, (albeit a new one). It was fine and I cut my teeth on it :) Ended up turning spinning wheels on it.

If I were you, (based on your other posts), I'd be looking for something with a little more quality - I think you'ld soon 'outgrow' the Clarke
