I have acquired a rapid action Woden X130 7in woodwork bench vice. This I believe was the last vice made using the Woden name, it was made by Record tools of Sheffield. The eccentric half screw is I believe the American Wilton patent made under licence. My problem is I can not get the half screw to engage when I close the vice. It engages when I turn the handle anti-clockwise to open the vice, but will not engage when I try to close the vice. The tool is in very good condition. Please help.

Hi and welcome.
Make some more posts and then get some pictures up. It will be more help for someone who can advise.

Welcome to the forum Wellbar.

Certainly an interesting tool, Sheffield made during the dieing days of an intrinsically Brummie brand.

Look forward to seeing some photos once you have made a few more posts.
