Hello

I am currently converting a loft in an old French house. The client has asked for the floor boards to be cleaned and polished. For cleaning the old mop and bucket have worked a treat and now I am looking for a floor polish that I can apply . If it was water based I could mop it on and build up layers.

Does any one know of a product that would give a good finish ?

The boards are old wide oak boards.

Thanks in advance 'Sue'

what about a hardwax oil. The Osma Polyxx always seems to get good reviews- I am going to use it on our pine floor when i do it.

Hardwax Oils aren't water based, but Osmo do a kind of (expensive) mop system for use with their oil - the basic approach is to apply it thinly, let it soak in for a few minutes, then remove the excess and repeat this process 24 hours later for the second coat.
