I have a SIP spindle moulder (01456 model) and I am trying to source a ring fence for it. SIP don't make one and I have just got a price for one from Scott & Sargeant but you have to tap a couple of holes into the table to mount it - is anyone aware of one that doesn't require the table to be drilled? Also any advice on particular brands/models would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Do you actually want a ring fence or would a guide/bearing do the job, I have only used a proper ring fence a few times in 30 years and then I made up from plywood to suit the job in hand.

If you are inexperienced with shaped work the a well guarded ring fence is by far your best bet .
Bearing guides are indeed very good but can be dangerous in the wrong hands .
With a ring fence you can get to feel if the cut is too great , then by easing off you can carry on working .
I like both and have used both methods to produce all types of curved work .
