Just to flag up in case your letter never arrived but, thanks to the EU, the Yourpoints reward scheme offered by the likes of the Natwest credit card is closing and you will need to use up your points before October this year or lose them for good.
 
Ah, I see how you got there. but I would assume that a bigger portion of the card issuers income comes from the high interest rates and points system would be a small dent in that. The points schemes are also designed to encourage more use of a card, commission rates would have no impact on that.
Remains to be seen if other card issuers follow suit

Quite a few have withdrawn cards. Capital One, for example.
