If it has a VGA D socket it ought to work as a monitor. I have two 15" LED TVs that work OK as monitors, it needs a bit of messing about with the resolution to make them perfect though. To be honest I don't make them perfect they are used as consoles for normally headless servers so I can live with a wierd resolution for the few moments that I need them. Maybe I'll never get them perfect for a computer screen.

That does seem good value, certainly wasn't expecting to find a Hitachi behind that link.
Can you find a full spec sheet or user guide on the Hitachi website? Might tell you something more about the VGA connector.
Are any computers shipped with HDMI sockets?

From a man that used to sell and install home cinema and tv (me)...
Stuff the spec, the numbers and the bumph. Go and look at the picture for yourself*, preferably on a tv channel as opposed to a dvd feed, and then preferably with the lesser quality channels like ch5.
If it looks good to you, its worth it, if it doesnt it isnt.
* I know my local argos has tvs on display, or see if you can find the same model in one of the big shops, and have a good play (give them a chance to pricematch if you do that to be fair ;))

If you have a Mac, a modern one, then it will have a mini HDMI socket on it and you can connect it to the same on the 'haunted fish tank' no sweat. Works a treat.

On the same subject-ish. Did you know that if you get a peanut stuck in your ear you can pour some melted chocolate in you ear and it comes out a Treat

OK, I know where me coat an 'at is
