Yew and Mulberry bowls

Not posted any samples of work up before, and had time for a play today - no point going outside anywhere, rain, rain and more rain.
Anyway, first go at a bowl with wings - from a square block of yew. 8 inch by 3.5 inch

Didn't quite get it right, particularly under the wings as I ran out of wood on one of the wings to risk cleaning up the cut, could have lost it! Tomorrow maybe ....
Also an end grain bowl from mulberry. Loads of worm holes and dead stuff lurking in it but came out alright once I'd removed the majority. 8 inch by 2.
Both finished with sealer, wax and a buffing.

I love the "petals" on the yew bowl; brings it to life I think.

I particularily like the natural shape of the mulberry bowl/dish.
