Whilst walking dog came across this lump, it looked like no trees nearby. So have hoiked it home. It’s dense, very heavy, the bark is almost milk chocolate brown, and the inner wood has a reddish tinge.
I’m useless at wood identifying but I wondered whether it might be oak? Any help gratefully received 😁
