I'm looking forward to another trip down to Yandles 4th September fro anothe Woodworking & Craft Show. I've been there a couple of times before and it is about the best show I have been to with so much to see and worth the trip even though it is a couple of hours away. Anyone else planning on going on the Friday week?

As of todays version of the calendar I'm down to be there all day on the Friday.

I'm not going but I'm very envious! Yandles is about the only thing I miss about living in Somerset (since we moved to Scotland last year). I know you'll have a great time :)

Cheers

Paul

Hopefully yes, but it's more a case of answering queries and passing on hints if folks ask, I'll be by the lathe all day subject to comfort breaks.

I wasn't planning on going as it was too busy for my liking last time but a mate wants my company and advice for a potential Lathe purchase.

It's a choice for him between the new variable speed Record and a similar size Jet.

I'll be perusing the turning tools and finishing supplies on Friday.

I'm also wondering about whether to attend the D&M show this year.

You apparently haven't been told yet that it is going to be postponed until after I return from holiday. Well, I haven't been told yet but I have asked so expect an announcement soon.

I use Yandles quite a lot but after last years show I said never again on show days. Can't be doing with the crush, too much crammed in too small a space.

Bill

Yes it was a bit too busy for me as well. It was my first visit earlier this year, I need to go there on a normal day to have a proper look round!

Agreed, I also vowed never to go there again on show day, would much rather browse through the timber in peace!

Hi Alex
Yup we will be going again this year we should sort out where we should meet. Got to remember this year that it was a fluk we met as there are two watering holes on site. We will both be there on Friday.

There are a couple of comments on the thread about the crush at a Yandles shoe. I cannot attend this autumn but I attended the spring show this year and by early afternoon on the Friday the crush had very much subsided.

What's that saying ..... best laid plans of mice and men ... etc. my Arthritic hip has started playing up and I doubt that the Yandles trip will be on this time. I was really looking forward to it, but two hours each way driving will be very uncomfortable as well as the walking around. How I do hate this part of old age! Perhaps next time.

Hi Alex
Really sorry to hear that, I was looking forward to having a chinwag again this year. Hope you are soon up and running again.....it will save you a few bob through :). Age has a nasty habit of doing that.

Any body els see me wandering around with my with my Chicago baseball hat on and my wife, please feel free to stop us for a chat.

Always anothe day mate, just get yourself well. Couple of hours in the car when you are feeling crook is no laughing matter.

Sorry you can't make it, I was going to keep a look out for someone like your Avatar!

Are we getting excited yet people? I do hope they have some Maple spindle stock ...
