My BRA got used mainly for cross cuts, had the trenching head, used that a bit but never used it as a rip saw, tenoner or spindle moulder like in the second video, scary stuff :shock: :shock: :shock:

HSE would have kittens if anyone was using them like that anymore :lol:.

It's a shame there aren't many pieces of footage like this from that era, the machinists back then seemed to really know their tools and how to work them very effectively. It feels as though these days there are very few people in the trade that know how to do more than just simple straight and square work. You often see people say "That can't be done without a CNC machine" and turn down the job E.G. Gothic Style windows and bars, when in fact the job was indeed done originally with very simple machines using some complex thinking and jigging to get the job done.
