I posted a message some time ago about some panel heaters that I have bought to warm my workshop. They are very efficient with two settings of 500w and 1000w. I have them both on 500w from 7am to 5pm on a thermostatic setting of around half way that gives a comfortable heat for the workshop. Does the fact that they are on thermostat cut the wattage down even more, possibly to half again or doesn't it work like that. My assumption is that the 500w usage is if the heater is on full power (at its top heat) all the time. Any suggestions. Thanks Jim

If you have it set at 500 watts then when the thermostat switches the heater on in will run at 500watts. When the room reaches the temperature the thermostat is set to, the heater shuts off completely no power used. and the cycle continues.
