I am new to woodworking so would appreciate being cut a bit of slack. I would like to buy a workbench router table and would like to know if they will all take any make of router. I have a Freud 2000 router any help appreciated. #-o

Most routers can fit most tables, its only the spacing of the holes in the insert plate that dictates that, these plates are normally available without any holes drilled in them so you can drill and fit whatever you want.

You have not indicated a budget so have a look at this: https://www.lumberjacktools.co.uk/produ ... r-lum00014 integrated router, above table lift and variable speed.

Then at the other end of the cost spectrum are these: https://woodworkersworkshop.co.uk/colle ... able-combo

Same as the Lumberjack router I linked to, the fence is pretty naff and I upgraded mine with the Axminster compact router table fence, makes a lot of difference.

It's exactly the right size and comes with the side rails to bolt onto the existing table, you have to drill, countersink and space the rails off the underside of the table, but it is worth the effort: https://www.axminster.co.uk/ujk-technol ... nce-508272
