Does anyone on here have any preference when it comes to workwear, ie.... Id never buy anything other than .....etc.

Ive tried a few different types and not overly impressed with any, and im needing some more soon.

Might push the budget and try the snickers ones, or caterpillar...

If you want something that will last for ages, then Carhartt's double front trousers are brilliant, you will have to push the budget though. I have had them in the past for £40 but you'll have to search around.

Dewalt trousers are quite good, I've tried snickers trousers but found them quite tight around the thighs. At the moment my favourites are scruffs pro trousers, nice and roomy for kneeling and climbing around and really hard wearing.

Dewalt here too. I bought two sets from screwfix two years ago. Trousers, knee pads , belt and a woolie hat for £30 I think might have been £40

I am forced to buy cheap jeans as i just can't get work trousers in my size (28" waist 27" leg) I have to shop in the teenage section for most of my clothes!

Snickers here. I have been wearing them for about 7 years or so now (duratwill versions). The first pair lasted me 3yrs. Tried a pair of cat trousers once and they lasted less than a year before the internal lining at the knees gave out and are now almost shorts

Currently have snickers and are due to be replaced within the next few weeks with another pair of the same along with the floor layers knee pads. :)

+1 for those. They have a massive choose of colours, (black or tan!). I also recommend Arborwear, which are similar, with a looser fit, which means they are much easier for climbing around in due to a baggier "crotchal area". They also do some very snuggly lined ones too. Both are variations on cotton so don't shrug off dirt and can take a while to dry out if wet. These trousers are so hard they stand up on their own!

Thanks Guys, Great response, and worthwhile as ive ordered some i wouldnt have if i didnt ask! Love that.

Ive gone for a pair of the Carhartt's double front Ones Nathan suggested, as i dont like lost of pockets sticking out. They tend to catch the machines as you walk past, especially the felder ones as there are lots of Kipp fastners.

I Bought them from here.

I've never bought these, but I know a folk who rave about them:

That's about £120. Expensive, but I'm tempted and I rarely buy clothes. I prefer to have a small wardrobe of clothes I really like, instead of tons of clothes I hate.

Castle TuffStuff Extreme here; zip-off nail pockets have irritatingly cheap zips (I sew mine on permanently) but otherwise great, and only ~£20-odd a pair in stone/black/royal blue or navy - and no hideous contrasting stitching or two-tone detailing, either!

It might not be much use to you but there have been a few new to me brands mentioned on FOG. While i'm happy with the overall comfort etc with snickers, like most the knee pads could be higher up.
Both these brands have addressed that so now they are looking like they might be replacing my snickers

I have a pair of these now. They are great. Incredibly tough. £50 which isn't cheap, but I reckon they'll last.
