This looks like good value to me. Not something I'd buy, you'd have to do a lot of sharpening to justify that outlay (just my opinion). But if it floats your boat worth a look at. I'm sure I've read on here that there was a problem getting new discs. You might want to search that before buying......maybe the discount is because of that, or because of bad press caused by it???? Am I over-thinking this?

LOl.. :D .I had a quick look at those threads. Some of it are folks moaning that stuff is out of stock. Well..simple solution..do what I do and keep some in reserve. Then there are those who complain about the price. Well...it's called Total Cost of Ownership.....I have little sympathy for someone moaning after the event. Easy enough to see what the cost is of replacement discs. I bought a few spare when i bought my Worksharp several years ago...still got a few left.

And for me, still is one of my best buys.

As it goes, do you have/use the knife sharpening attachment? I'm curious as to whether it's worthwhile or just a gimmick...

No I don't. I use an old stone for my kitchen knives ! I do use the planer blade attachment which works well. Perhaps I should emphasise that mine is the 3000.

Do any of you chaps know if it can be used for sharpening lawnmower blades and the like? I mean the big rotary ones such as come on Bosch Rotak mowers, etc.

Best to sharpen them with an angle grinder and balance them with a pencil through the center hole.

I had a worksharp system, and it was excellent, I sold it recently as I have recently been given a Tormek T7; as well as a slow grinder. I simply didn't have space for everything (selling a Tormek Supergrind (pre T3 version))

To be honest I struggled with the Worksharp system to sharpen my turning tools, BUT for my planes and chisels it was really great and easy to get a constant angel
