Just been to restack a couple of log piles that blew over last week. In one I’ve found a few pieces that look like they’re getting eaten by something. At first I thought something was nawing on the bark but there are also some small holes. I have got it on about 10 logs as far as I can see. Though they are wet on the surface from falling over into the grass the logs have actually been stacked for a couple of years. The logs are hawthorn if that makes a difference. Nothing in the stack of chestnut that fell over next to it and has also been stacked a couple of years. Any idea of the cause?
