Hi All,

I have recently become a member of a club where we award trophies for County\Class championship etc. As a Committee member with others we have decided to apply some long overdue love to the trophies, the silverware will be outsourced but the woodwork we are going to do in house.

Some of the trophy shields are hardwood and have ben easy to do; that said some of the other are really cheap with what looks like a shrunkwrap wood effect onto MDF etc.

Is this something any of you have been involved with? Any advice etc. appreciated.

For the few I have to do I thought about making a 1/4" MDF template and reproducing in hardwood, there is another problem. Don't know of anywhere in Berkshire to buy hardwood.

Cheers,

Jon.

Hi and welcome. The first post in General Woodworking forum is a list of timber yards. Lists one in Newbury, Berkshire.

Actual useful advice I'll leave to actual useful experts.

Hope this helps
John.
