What are the best wood glues to use for delicate joinery , are there any organic alternatives , ie - what did they use in the olden times ?this forum rocks thanks for all the help

The "organic" solution in "olden times" was animal hide glue (pearl hide glue) with rabbit skin glue and fish glue being used for more delicate tasks such as leather inlay work, etc. These glues are still used in quality veneering, repair work, etc. PVA is no substitute for hide glue.b
