My brother got me a old pine table from a skip. It was only a small one, like a TV dinner table. I made this whirligig out of it. The wings were just some bits of pine skirting board that I had. It’s in the garden now but not had any wind yet to see it moving.

I fancy making a whirligig for my place but thanks the gales we get I think it will need a scaffold pole to mount it lol looks great is it a Red Cardinal ?

Brian

Yes it’s a red cardinal.
You should make one Brian. You can always take it in if the wind is too strong. It’s a great feeling seeing it spinning around when you know you have made it yourself.
I have made a few of these. Not had any plans from anywhere, just had an idea and made it. The red cardinal I did see one online and nicked that idea.

One of the others I made was a sunflower. Saw a sign outside a shop and got the idea from that.

Don’t know why the picture is rotated. It’s ok when you click on it.
