hello there, first post on this site.
I am helping a friend jazz up some heavy inch ply/mdf speaker cabinets. We decided the best option was paper-backed jointed veneer sheets on contact adhesive. Unfortunately he went for teak which we did not discuss, because of its oily nature. I had wanted to put a fairly mid to high sheen sprayed finish on them. can anyone recommend a clear finish (not oil) for teak, bearing in mind the veneer/paper sheets are .5/6mm thick.
Thanks,
Will

You'll be fine spraying. The oily reputation of Teak comes more from the old school Burmese timber, which is most definitely not what you have. If iron-on adhesive will adhere on the glue side, then anything from a rattle tin or a spray gun will adhere on the face side.
