Hi Guys,

I’ve used wire burning on the sides of bowls. Does anybody know how to do this on the rim or interior of a bowl?
D
I've seen a it of Formica used on the rim into a small groove, I've yet to try it myself...

Formica works very well, I tend to snap a piece off as it breaks with a very sharp edge & has the added bonus that it doesn’t get red hot like wires in use.

A sharp wedge of almost any timber will do the job. A bit of experimentation would soon find a suitable one.

This is a great tip - without such a sharp tip you can also use darker woods to burnish a contrasting band on paler timbers. I find something like Purple Heart works well, perhaps on maple or oak for example.
